Today in Human Geo, we presented more presentations and here are the notes I wrote down from it.

Russia
Federal presidential Republic

Government Responsibilities
Ensure the implementation of a uniform state policy in the areas of culture (What makes the United States and Russia different)

Syria
Republic under Baschar al-assad
President Baschar term's are 7 year long and has served 2 so far
Elections are rigged

Republic in Syria
Baschar has been the leader since 2000
No other way besides assassination to get rid of him
He will kill anyone who protests because he uses violence to solve his problems
Expected to stay the leader for a while

Japan
Parliamentary Government and a Constitutional Monarchy
Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
Prime Minister has the most power
Emperor Akihito has been on the throne since 1989
Akihito is the world's only monarch with the title "Emperor"
Shinzo Abe was Japan's first Prime Minister
Akihito got power after his fathers death
All men and women who have reached the age of 20 have the right to vote
Petition to have a leader thrown out
